A ruckus kicked off when former union minister Jairam Ramesh today said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister had achieved nothing for his state though he had visited Delhi 29 times.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Ramesh alleged that the reason for that was that Chandrababu Naidu never discussed with the Centre any of the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act except that of the enhancement of the number of Assembly constituencies.
Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi too in the process, Ramesh alleged that the former had benefited only Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi, and had done nothing for Andhra Pradesh.
Ramesh advised Naidu withdraw his party's support to the Centre if he was sincere.
Swiftly condemning Ramesh's remarks against Naidu, AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu asked the former to show evidence for his allegations.
Yanamala alleged that Ramesh had played an insidious role during the division of the united state, and that the people of Andhra Pradesh didn't forget that.
Dubbing Ramesh as the "ghost writer" of the AP Reorganization Act which was quite ambiguous and full of gaps, Yanamala said that the former union minister was responsible for the present situation in Andhra Pradesh thanks to his intentionally scripted "defective act" aimed at rendering injustice to AP.
He said that the people of the two Telugu states had taught a fitting lesson to the Congress for all its double-speak and hypocrisy during the division.
"Jairam Ramesh, who was elected as a Rajya Sabha member twice from Andhra Pradesh and became a union minister, betrayed the state, and is now making sarcastic statements against the Andhras. It is also surprising how his party's MPs are not opening their mouths in Parliament though the TDP MPs are carrying on a fight against the Centre demanding justice for the state," Yanamala said.
