The Telangana Rashtra Samithi's floor leader in the Assembly Eetela Rajender on Tuesday criticized Union minister for urban development S Jaipal Reddy for not making his stand on Telangana state formation clear.
Talking to media persons, Eetela lashed out at Jaipal Reddy for not expressing solidarity with the Telangana agitation and for not doing anything for the development of the region.
The TRS MLA said that Jaipal Reddy has been so removed from the issue of separate statehood and from the people of Telangana, where he hails from, that he has even failed to console the next of kin of those who had committed suicide during the recent agitations.
Eetala also demanded that the Telangana Congress leaders stand by their promise of resigning from their posts in the event of the Centre failing to introduce a Telangana bill in the budget session of Parliament.
Another senior TRS leader Vijaya Rama Rao said the party would consider attending the 2nd all-party convention called to discuss the recommendations of the Justice Srikrishna Committee if the Centre declares the agenda and modalities.
Vijaya Rama Rao also demanded that the centre make its stand on the bifurcation of the state clear.
Reacting to a question on the Congress' luring of Telangana MPs with plum ministerial posts, the 2 leaders said it was "shameful" for the Congress, and a violation of democratic principles.
