Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy, popularly known as Jagga Reddy, also a working president of the Telangana Congress, today said that he would hold a huge public meeting with one lakh people in his constituency on March 21.
He also said that the meeting would be held at the Ambedkar stadium, where he had organized Rahul Gandhi's public meeting.
Addressing a meeting of his followers and supporters, Reddy discussed his future course of action with them. He said that he would continue in the Congress until he met with Rahul Gandhi, and would not resign from the party until then.
He added that he would turn an independent MLA if he did not receive a response from Rahul Gandhi, and that he would make the announcement about his future at the public meeting.
Reddy then said that all his predictions before the formation of Telangana state had become realities. He told his supporters that he had predicted the political extinction of the Congress in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after the bifurcation of the erstwhile united state, and that was just what happened.
He said that the Congress was sustaining continuous losses due to the attitude of the some of the politicians of the state, and that unless that changed, the party would die in Telangana.
