After the
announcement by former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy that he would launch a new party within 45 days, former Congress minister Damodar Reddy on Tuesday said that the new regional party would not have much impact on the Congress, which was a national party.
Talking to media persons at the CLP Office, the former minister stated that he saw no threat to the government by the formation of another regional party.
Welcoming Jaganmohan Reddy's decision, Damodar Reddy said, "Every individual has the freedom to form his own party or join any association. No one can raise objections to this".
The former minister also promised cooperation and support from Telangana leaders if Jaganmohan Reddy extended support in favour of formation of separate Telangana state.
"There are many fans of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in Telangana region. They will support his party because of his welfare works," he said.
When asked about the publishing of a series of articles maligning Congress party President Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on the television channel owned by Jaganmohan Reddy, the former minister said that the former MP has never uttered a single harsh comment against Sonia Gandhi in any part of the state.
