Former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, along with his supporters, will go on a mass hunger strike for 48 hours at Sitammapadalu on the banks of the river Krishna in Vijayawada from December 21st.
Jaganmohan Reddy's hunger strike, meant to highlight the plight of farmers, will be his first political show of strength after resigning from the Congress party.
According to sources, the former MP's supporters have been told to mobilise his supporters from all parts of the district to ensure that the first impression of the yet-to-be announced party shakes the fence-sitting Congress' leaders' reverie.
Sources say that Jaganmohan Reddy's staunch loyalists like Ambati Rambabu, Karunakar Reddy Jaleel Khan and T Shakuntala have been told to mobilise more than 1 lakh farmers and weavers of the region who have suffered due to heavy rains in the area recently.
Sources add that, acting on Jaganmohan Reddy's instructions, his loyalists had visited Sitammapadalu, and even performed the 'bhumi puja' at the spot.
