Jagan Seeks Help From Centre To Evacuate AP Students In Ukraine
The AP CM had a call with union external affairs minister Dr S Jayashankar and sought his support in bringing back the Telugu students stranded in Ukraine.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had a telephonic conservation with union external affairs minister Dr S Jayashankar and sought his support in bringing back the Telugu students stranded in Ukraine.
The minister told the CM that the Centre was taking all possible measures to evacuate the students including relocating them to nearby countries and later shifting them to India.
The CM urged the union minister to bring the stranded students back at the earliest, and assured him of any support required from the state.
The CM also held a high-level meeting with officials at his camp office on the same subject.
He directed them to establish communication with everyone from the state in Ukraine and find out their well-being, and take appropriate measures for their safety.
He also told the officials to provide all the necessary information to the union government officials for the evacuation, after speaking with the stranded people.
He also asked the authorities to evacuate the people through special aircraft of the state if necessary.
The Chief Minister also directed authorities to set up control rooms at the district level and collect details of the stranded students.
The officials informed the CM that they were constantly in touch with the union foreign ministry and the APNRTS for the safe return of state's students in Ukraine.
Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma, the CM's Special Principal Secretary Jawahar Reddy, the CM's Secretary Dhanunjay Reddy, AP Bhavan Principal Resident Commissioner Praveen Prakash, Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Special Officer (International Cooperation) Jitesh Sharma were present at the meeting.
Speaking to the media later, the Chief Secretary said that the CM was constantly reviewing the situation and taking steps to bring back the stranded students of the state from Ukraine.
He added that helplines +48660460814, +48606700105, 1902 and 8500027678 had been set up to assist the students and their parents, and that four teams had been set up in the borders of Ukraine connecting Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania, to airlift the state's students.
