Jagan Rules Out Supporting Congress At The Centre
The YSR Congress president expressed anguish over reports in a section of the English media distorting the Party's stand on extending support at the Centre.
YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has expressed deep anguish over the reports appearing in a section of the English media distorting the Party's stand on extending support at the Centre.
He said that the newspapers were giving their individual and imaginary versions though the YSR Congress' stand was categorically explained during its various public meetings and in the press conference at Pulivendula after the polling.
"Since the Congress has split the state undemocratically and irrationally, our support to that Party is ruled out. As for non-Congress Parties, our Party did not take any names, but said that first we would try to win 25 MP seats, and only later think of whether we should support Modi, Tom, Dick or Harry," Jagan said in a statement on Friday.
There were distortions and imaginary conclusions on these remarks, he said.
If it had 25 MPs, the YSRCP said, it would have the upper hand and play a pivotal role in the formation of the Government at the Centre.
However, it said that it would not surrender to Delhi's dictates like Chandrababu Naidu, and will keep the Telugu pride flying.
"While Chandrababu Naidu has been pointing to Modi and seeking votes, our Party has sought votes on the Telugu pride plank," the Party said. (INN)
