Speaking on the occasion, the CM announced that the government would fill 10,143 vacant job posts in the current fiscal year, and that this would be done before March 2022.
"Scores of unemployed youth are waiting for job opportunities. Our government is filling vacant job positions in order to ensure that they do not lose their confidence, and to provide to them viable and respectable livelihoods. We have prepared a job calendar to notify the youth about the timing of the release of various job notifications," he added.
Reddy said that the jobs would be filled solely on the basis of the merit of those aspiring for the posts, and made clear the fact that no appointments would be made on the basis of connections or lobbying.
The CM then elaborated on the efforts of his government to provide employment and stated, "We have filled 6,03,756 vacant posts over the last two years. Of the total posts, 1,84,264 were filled by the hiring of permanent employees, 3,99,791 were filled on an out-sourcing basis, and 19,701 were filled on a contractual basis."
Highlighting his government's "pro-employee" spirit, he added, "We have merged the RTC into the government despite a burden of Rs 3,500 crore which has given job security to 51,387 RTC employees. Further, we have increased the salaries of the government employees in the state."
