Andhra Pradesh minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy today alleged that YSR Congress Party plenary was organized just to malign the image of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu by leveling baseless allegations.
Speaking to mediapersons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Somireddy said that the YSRCP plenary was different from those of other parties. Jaganmohan Reddy was leveling baseless charges with a lust to grab the CM's post by hook or crook, he said.
Referring to Jagan's allegation that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had indulged in corruption to the tune of Rs 3.75 lakh crores (Jagan released a book yesterday called "Emperor Of Corruption" referring to Naidu) during the last three years, Somireddy ridiculed the charge and asked how it would be possible for any one to pocket the huge sum when the State's budget was only Rs 3.60 lakh crores during this period.
Quoting a national report, the minister said that some 24,000 farmers had committed suicides during the previous 10-year Congress rule, while keeping the promise made on the eve of the Assembly elections the TDP government had waived off farmers' loans amounting to Rs 24,000 crores.
Lashing out at Jagan, Somireddy accused the former of amassing huge wealth when his father was Chief Minister of united AP, and said that Jagan was the principal accused in several CBI cases and a "Bahubali" in corruption.
