The overwhelming response to Congress MP from YSR district (formerly Kadapa) continued to be evident on Friday, the second day of the Odarpu Yatra in Srikakulam district.
Jagan resumed the yatra in Tekkali by unveiling a statue of his father, former CM late YSR, close to the railway gate.
Thanking the huge number of people present there, Jagan said that his father was alive in the hearts of people of the state, and that he would continue to be so.
Later, he proceeded to Kothapet, were he unveiled another YSR statue at Kothapet Junction, Kothabommali mandal, in the district.
Jagan then proceeded to Narasannapet, where he paid floral tributes to his father's statue after unveiling it at Bairi Junction.
The young MP had halted his yatra for the day by consoling the family of Nirmala, who had died of shock following the death of his father, in Marlapadu village, Nandigam mandal, at around 3am on Friday morning.
Before visiting Nirmala's residence, he visited the residence of Reyyi Tatamma at Sunnadevi village, Palasa mandal, to console her family and offer his support.
He had also unveiled a statue of the former chief minister in the village.
Meanwhile, opposition to his yatra in the state headquarters seems to be dwindling, with the focus of the Congress leadership shifting to bring the detractors of Chief Minister K Rosaiah in line.
