Jagan Announces "YSR Bharosa" Scheme For Farmers
If he were to be elected in 2019, his government would give Rs 50,000 to each small farmer under the scheme, the YSR Congress chief said.

YSR Congress Party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy announced a "YSR Bharosa" scheme for the farmers of Andhra Pradesh that would be implemented immediately if he becomes Chief Minister in the 2019 elections.
His government would give Rs 50,000 to each farmer under the scheme, he said.
Addressing the party's third plenary on its second day at Mangalagiri, Jagan said that the YSR Bharosa scheme would be applicable to small and marginal farmers, would be implemented immediately after his coming to power in Andhra Pradesh.
Under this scheme, the government would give Rs 12,500 per acre to every small and marginal farmer directly, with a limit of Rs 50,000. The amount would be given in May, he said.
The decision of how to spend the money would be left to the discretion of the farmers, Jagan said. He added that the government would be spending Rs 3,000 crores under the scheme, and that it would reach 46% of the families in the state.
The scheme would dissuade such farmers from committing suicides, he said.
He asked the party cadre to take the scheme to every village.
Jagan alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had spent only Rs 11,000 crore under the loan waiver scheme.
Noted election strategist Prashant Kishore also attended the plenary. Jagan introduced him to the party cadre, and said that Kishore would help the YSRCP in the 2019 elections. He said that Kishore had played a key role in making Modi the Prime Minister in the 2014 elections, as also Nitish Kumar and Amarinder Singh Chief Ministerss of Bihar and Punjab respectively.
