The income tax department on Monday conducted raids on Mythri Movie Makers, a leading film production company, in Hyderabad.
The IT officials reportedly conducted searches at 15 locations, including offices and the premises of the three producers Yelamanchili Ravi Shankar, Naveen Erneni and Cherukuri Mohan.
The company has produced some blockbusters movies including Pushpa, Rangasthalam, Srimanthudu and Janatha Garage.
Mythri has also taken up several big projects in recent times by paying huge sums to top actors including Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan and Vijay D. Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's latest movie Ustad Bhagat Singh is being produced by the company, and is slated for release in 2023.
Several other big-budget projects are said to be in the pipeline, too.
Apart from making the movies, Mythri stepped into film distribution as well. There is a talk that many NRIs have invested in the banner.
