Telangana leader and IT Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has accused AP’s Chief Minister Rosaiah of acting like the CM of Andhra.
Rosaiah has complained to Ahmed Patel (political secretary of Sonia Gandhi) and Veerappa Moily (state party in-charge) about the minister, and has asked for their permission to remove Komatireddy from the cabinet. The high command has decided to issue a showcause notice to the minister.
Rosaiah, who has had to deal with open questioning of his authority ever since he was made CM of AP after YSR’s death, has largely kept to low decibel levels ever since the Telangana issue erupted. But recently, when he pointed out the loss to the state’s brand image owing to the shaking of faith of 2 major industries making it big in AP – manufacturing and cinema – he drew cynical comments from Telangana supporters.
While Venkataswamy has said Rosaiah was absolutely wrong and Hyderabad had the most “industrial peace” in the country, Venkat Reddy said that by making such statements he was simply acting as the Chief Minister of Andhra rather than that of the entire state.
He said that contrary to what Rosaiah had declared, no IT company was leaving Hyderabad, and that even film producers were not planning to leave town. He said the statements were made by CM to dilute the Telangana issue.
Agriculture Minister Raghuveera Reddy, who hails from Rayalaseema, was quick to take exception to Venkat Reddy’s statement, and said that it was unbecoming of him to make such comments against the CM.
