IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today said that the IT hub to come up in Nalgonda district would provide jobs to about 3,000 youth.
He was speaking after laying the foundation for the hub in Nalgonda town, on the premises of the polytechnic college grounds.
Minister G Jagadish Reddy, MLAs, MPs and officials were present.
After Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Khammam, Nalgonda was now getting an IT Hub, KTR said. He claimed said that the hub upon completion would result in jobs and employment for the local youth.
About 3,000 jobs were expected, and 1,500 jobs had already been offered by some NRIs, he announced amid applause.
He attributed this to the IT policy giving permissions to multiple international companies. Huge investments were flowing into the state as a result, Rao claimed.
The minister promised to develop Nalgonda town on par with other developing cities and towns, and announced some sops and funds for Nalgonda to that effect.
He also inaugurated SC and ST hostels in the town, and announced the setting up of veg and non-veg markets soon for the people.
