Is Giving Clothes Free Not Bribing, Asks Congress
The party said the distribution of clothes for free by K T Rama Rao amounted to bribery, and asked how "gifts" could be given using the public exchequer.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today alleged that the distribution of clothes for free by IT Minister K T Rama Rao amounted to bribery, and that contractors gave gifts in the same manner after completing their works.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Vikramarka asked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who told people to hit those who sought bribes with chappals, what should be done if bribes were given in the form of gifts.
He also asked KCR how "gifts" could be given using funds from the public exchequer.
Bhatti also said KCR was just changing the names of projects designed by the previous Congress government, like in the case of the Kaleswaram project.
