The Board of Intermediate Education (Telangana) on Tuesday announced the schedule of admissions to the 2-year intermediate course in the general and vocational streams.
"All the Principals of the Government / Private Aided / Private Unaided / Co-operative / A. P. Residential / A. P. Social Welfare Residential / A. P. Tribal Welfare Residential / Incentive Junior Colleges and Composite Degree Colleges offering 2-year Intermediate courses in the general and vocational streams are requested to take special care in enrollment of students for the academic year 2014-15 by making admissions in 2 phases," BIE Secretary Rama Sankar Naik said.
As per the schedule, in the first phase, the sale of application forms will begin on May 26, and the last date for receipt of applications at the colleges will be June 30. The admissions in the first phase will begin on June 4 and end on June 30.
The BIE said that the schedule for the second phase of admissions would be communicated in due course.
The classes for the first and second year Intermediate courses will commence on July 4. The Principals can make provisional admissions on the basis of Internet marks memos. The provisional admissions made will be confirmed after the production of original SSC pass certificates and Transfer Certificates issued by the authorities of the schools where the students last studied, the BIE said.
The Principals have been directed to follow the rule of reservation in admission by reserving 15% seats for SCs, 6% for STs, 29% for BCs including 4% for Muslims (under the BC-E category), 3% for the physically handicapped, 5% for those falling under the NCC, Sports and Extra-Curricular activities quota, and 3% for children of ex-service men and defence personnel residing in the State.
As many as 33.33% or 1/3rd of total seats have to be reserved for girls category-wise, in co-education colleges. (INN)
