Infighting In Krishna District TDP
Both district president Deveneni Umamaheswara Rao and Vijayawada city president Vallabhaneni Vamsi have resigned from their posts, after charging against each other.
The differences among Telugu Desam Party leaders of Krishna district came to the fore on Friday with both district unit president Deveneni Umamaheswara Rao and Vijayawada city unit president Vallabhaneni Vamsi submitting resignations from their posts on Friday, after hurling charges and counter-charges against each other.
According to sources, Umamaheswara Rao stated that he had resigned as the district unit president after being pained by allegations leveled by city unit president Vallabhaneni Vamsi and by Kodali Nani that he had not given proper respect to Nandamuri Harikrishna during his recent visit to the district.
Rao said that not respecting Harikrishna was unthinkable for him since he had immense respect towards party founder N T Rama Rao and his family members.
Condemning the allegations leveled against him as baseless, Umamamaheswara Rao stated that he has been working by taking strength from the members of the NTR family.
Meanwhile Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who had earlier faxed his resignation to the TDP office on Friday, stated that he was having rethinking his resignation as the city unit president. He said earlier that he had planned to resign as the party city president due to the arrogant and arbitrary attitude of Umamaheswara Rao, but was rethinking after coming to know about the party’s district unit president’s resignation.
Vamsi said that Rao was not giving proper respect to members of NTR’s family. He said that Umamaheswara Rao had not made any arrangements for Harikrishna when the latter visited the district, and also did not give an opportunity for other workers to meet the senior party leader.
Meanwhile, Harikrishna has summoned both the leaders to Hyderabad to sort out the differences between them. (INN)
