Telugu Desam Party polit-bureau member K Yerran Naidu, on Sunday, described the Indramma Bata program, a brain child of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, as a "total flop". He said that except for the Congress' cadre, no one was participating in it.
Speaking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Yerran Naidu accused the government of wasting time and resources introducing such programs in the state, instead of taking concrete initiatives to solve the problems being faced by the people.
"The chief minister is wasting his energy for the Indramma Bata program," he said.
The TDP leader said that no one was interested in such schemes, which, he said, were introduced in the name of solving problems, as they have always failed to yield results.
He asked the CM to explain why he was "misusing" his power by indulging in such political gimmicks. He demanded that Kiran kumar Reddy come up with solutions to resolve people's problems in a realistic manner.
On another issue, condemning the statement of Minor Irrigation minister T G Venkatesh, that officers showing negligence in their duties should be shot dead publicly, Yerran Naidu said that it was not proper on the part of a minister to make such statements against executives.
"It is sufficient to lodge a complaint against the negligent officers instead of resorting to such harsh statements," he said. (INN)
