Winner of popular television reality show 'Indian Idol', Mynampati Sreeramachandra will be honoured with the Lata Mangeshkar Award at Lalitha Kala Thoranam on August 21.
Chief Minister K Rosaiah, who will be the chief guest for the function, will present Sreeram a scroll, Rs. 1 lakh, and a shawl.
This was revealed to media persons by AP State Cultural Council Chairman R V Ramana Murthy and Director of Cultural Affairs M Kanta Rao IPS, on Thursday.
Extolling the new singing sensation's talent, Ramana Murthy said that the young man has brought honour for the state by winning the coveted trophy.
He said that the program will be attended by Information and Public Relations Minister Geetha Reddy, State Cultural Council Chief Secretary S Chellappa, famous film singers, and others.
Kanta Rao informed that an International Folk Ustav, in which people from all the 23 districts will participate, will be held on August 23 at the same venue.
