Illegal banners, hoardings and advertisements in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits will be dealt with seriously and attract heavy penalties as per the rules of the Public Places' Disfigurement Act, Telangana minister K T Rama Rao said.
The people behind the ungainly and unauthorized hoardings and banners defacing the city will be penalized as one of the measures under the Swachch Hyderabad campaign of keeping the city clean, KTR said. All illegal flexes, whether of the ruling party or of the Opposition or others, will be pulled down, he promised.
Expressing serious displeasure at the countless number of such flexes, banners, hoardings and posters, he said that all such material should be removed without any discrimination.
The minister asked GHMC Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy to immediately remove such hoardings and banners. He also directed Reddy to initiate stringent measures against the individuals/companies responsible for the material.
