IAS Touches KCR's Feet, Congress Demands Action

The Telangana Congress wrote to the President saying that a civil servant touching a higher-up's feet for sycophancy and unconstitutional.
Hyderabad | 31st January 2017
Leader of Opposition in the Telangana legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir today demanded appropriate action against the two IAS officers from the Jagtial district, including Collector A Sharath, who behaved in a manner that brought down the values of secularism, prestige of the post, the image of the IAS, and the Constitution of India.

In a letter to the President of India, Shabbir Ali sought his intervention in initiating appropriate action against the defaulting officers who touched Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's feet.

He said that Sharath behaved in a sycophantic way and declared during the Republic Day speech that he would touch the Chief Minister's feet for permitting him to conduct the Republic Day parade. Shabbir Ali said that he shouldn't forget that he was a public servant, and not a servant to KCR.

Shabbir Ali demanded action against both the IAS officers for allegedly violating Constitution and denigrating the prestige and reputation of IAS cadres.
