Health Minister Danam Nagender condemned Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders for attempting to dictate terms to the government by demanding that the Telangana leaders and ministers do not to take part in the AP Formation Day celebrations on November 1st.
Speaking to media persons, Nagender said, "I will do what Chief Minister K Rosaiah desires", when asked whether he would be part of the celebrations.
The minister made light of the comments made by TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K Taraka Rama Rao. He said that the two TRS leaders were overstepping the line by attempting to dictate terms to the government. Nagender pointed out to the demand to install the statue of freedom fighter Komaram Bheem by the TRS leaders as one of the instances of overstepping the line.
Nagender also lashed out at some Congress leaders for belittling the Chief Minister and demanding his resignation.
The minister expressed surprise at how and why the partymen could air their ire against their own government.
It would have been reasonable if the opposition had made such a remark and criticised the Chief Minister, Nagender said.
Speaking in a lighter vein, the minister made a mention of Deputy Chief Minister's post, which raised many an eyebrow. He stated that Dr. M Channa Reddy had such a deputy and did not rule out the possibility of one even now.
The minister specifically stated that BCs had received a raw deal. He pointed out that even in the GHMC standing committee, there was no proper representation of BCs.
Nagender observed that a BC leader deserved to hold a position as that of Deputy Chief Minister.
