Danam Nagender Attacks BJP For Anti-Police Remarks

TRS MLA Danam Nagender today attacked Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay and MLA Raja Singh for making false claims against the state's police force.
Hyderabad | 24th December 2020
Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender today criticised Telangana's BJP leaders, including state party chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and MLA T Raja Singh, for making "false allegations" against the police and the TRS government.

Speaking after distributing cheques to several beneficiaries of the Kalyana Lakshmi and the Shaadi Mubarak schemes, he accused Bandi Sanjay, Raja Singh and other BJP leaders of trying to discredit the state's police force, claiming they were targeting it only to sway the people.

"The BJP and its leaders are trying to mislead the people by raking up false issues. These tactics, however, will not help them win the people's support as the people know that our police force is among the best in the country. Even other states are following its model and adapting its practices. It is unfortunate that it has become fashionable for Sanjay, Raja Singh and other BJP leaders to criticise the state police despite this. They should refrain from sensationalising issues for political mileage," the MLA said.

"The government, under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has always prioritised the safety and security of the people including the women in the state. Even the BJP-led union government and the other states of the country have recognised this. After the TRS came to power, it worked actively to strengthen the state's police department by extending huge funds, and by providing technological support to the department. The police, on its part, works hard to ensure that peace and harmony prevail in the city. So, the BJP leaders should stop making false allegations against the police force as this will not help them in any way," Nagender added.

He also expressed his displeasure at the saffron party for making "false" claims against the government, and said that it would be more helpful to the state if the party gave constructive suggestions to the government instead of making baseless allegations.

He cautioned the BJP that the people would see through its rhetoric, and would teach the party a lesson in any future elections for spreading misinformation, if its leaders continued to make false charges against the state administration.
