The Revanth Reddy government is coming down against illegal constructions on tanks and nalas in the State with an iron hand using HYDRA.
The high-profile body has already demolished several buildings in Hyderabad and on the outskirts.
In one of the latest actions, revenue officials detected an illegal construction in Qutub Shahipet village under Malkapuram gram panchayat of Kondapur mandal in Sangareddy district - a four-storey building built in the local pond. It was demolished with bombs.
According to the locals, the building was constructed by a man from Hyderabad within the limits of the Malkapuram Peddacheruvu some time back. The authorities claimed that a route was also constructed to get into the building.
The villagers explained that the encroachers came from Hyderabad.
A home guard named Gopal, who was standing nearby, was hit by a stone after the blast. Gopal collapsed suddenly, and the authorities immediately rushed him to the hospital as he was bleeding profusely from his head. His condition is said to be stable.
