Students from Hyderabad clinched five of the top 20 ranks in the 2019 JEE-Advanced examination, the results of which were announced today.
The students are:
Akash Reddy - 4th rank B Kartikeya - 5th rank M Trivesh Chandra - 8th rank G V Krishna Surya Likhith - 13th rank S Sai Vigna - 44th rank
D Chandrasekhar secured the first rank in the EWS category.
The JEE Advanced tests are held for admissions into the IITs. Aspirants for admissions to the IITs first appear for the JEE Mains - which is also the test for admissions into the NITs and IIITs - and those qualifying there are allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced.
As many as 1.65 lakh students qualified for the JEE Advanced tests this year, including 16,886 from Telangana and 13,267 from Andhra Pradesh.
