Hyderabad Ranks First In Women's Safety: Home Minister
Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said in the Assembly on Thursday that women's safety was one of the top priorities of his government.

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said on Thursday that the safety of women was one of the top priorities of the TRS government.
Replying to questions raised by TRS MLAs in the Assembly on cases of eve-teasing and on the SHE Teams, Reddy said that till September 2017, as many as 210 SHE Teams were functioning across the state, and had filed 4,972 cases.
A total of 4,620 offenders had been arrested, and another 9,743 youths were given counselling, the Home Minister said.
Reddy claimed that Hyderabad stood first among all the cities in the country when it came to women's safety. He also said that officials from Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh had visited the city on several occasions to study the concept of the SHE Teams in order to replicate it in their own respective states.
