Special Assembly Session To Honour Manmohan Singh

A one-day special session of the third Telangana Legislative Assembly is being held tomorrow (December 30) to pay tribute to former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26.

Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu today reviewed the arrangements for the special session, which will begin at 10 am.

The Speaker and the minister advised the officials involved that all necessary precautions be taken and arrangements made to ensure that the members did not face any difficulties.

Later, Speaker Kumar also spoke in a teleconference with Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and other senior officials including the DGP over the arrangements.

Like in the past, the officials needed to take all precautions to ensure the successful conduct of the session, the Speaker said.

He also directed Legislation Secretary Narasimha Charyulu to coordinate with government officials and make the necessary arrangements so that the sessions would be held in a peaceful atmosphere.
