KTR Visits Marooned Areas

Municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao today promised all possible help to people in the makeshift GHMC shelters for rain-hit families in the city.
Hyderabad | 14th October 2020
Municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao today promised to provide all possible help and accommodation to people in the makeshift GHMC shelters for rain-hit families in the city.

KTR visited the rain-hit and marooned areas near L B Nagar, Byramalguda, Ramanthapur, Habsiguda, Musarambagh, Salim Nagar and other places.

During his visits, the minister tried to pacify the anguished people who were caught in flood waters, and appealed to them to move to rehabilitation centres and be alert as the rains may continue for two more days.

Food, medicines and blankets would be offered in the rehabilitation centres, he said.

At Ramanthapur, the minister expressed ire at the officials for the encroachment of nalas and lake-bed areas that he said had led to the deluging of the area. He also pulled up the local leaders and officials for not alerting the people in advance and shifting them to safety.

Home Minister Mahmood Ali, MLA Sudhir Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy and other officials accompanied the minister.
