Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today directed the state officials to ensure the safety of the people and their property from the heavy rains in the state due to the Cyclone Gulab.
KCR took stock of the situation in the state due to the rains in an interaction from New Delhi with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other top officials.
The Chief Minister directed the CS to take all necessary precautions to avoid any loss of life or property due to the rains, scheduled to lash the state for another two days.
He asked the revenue, police and other departments to work in tandem to contain the fallout.
Apart from the CS, DGP Mahender Reddy, Special CS for Roads and Buildings Sunil Sharma, Panchayati Raj Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and Disaster Management Secretary Rahul Bojja were present in the conference.
Kumar then held a teleconference with the various district Collectors over the issue, reiterating the CM's instructions and getting into detail.
He said that the revenue, police, panchayati raj, irrigation and fire departments in each of the districts should work in coordination, and that if necessary the services of the NDRF teams in Hyderabad, Kottagudem and Warangal should be utilised.
He said that a separate control room should be set up in each district Collectorate, and information provided to the control room.
He added that the situation should be reviewed by Special Officers appointed at all problematic areas, such as inland areas, ponds, ditches and bridges.
DGP M Mahender Reddy said that he had directed the various Police Commissioners and SPs to work in coordination with the district Collectors.
