Old City Curfew To Be Relaxed
150 were injured so far in the communal riots, but tension seemed reduced on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the entire city of Hyderabad, amid thorough police protection, reached a seemingly peaceful state of inactivity.
The communal riots that started on March 27 have claimed two lives and left 150 injured so far. Indefinite curfew was imposed in 17 police stations in the old city this Monday, which was extended to 8 other police stations after violence crept into these areas as well on Tuesday.
The tension seemed reduced and peace restored in the entire city on Wednesday in comparison with the last two days, and no significant incident was reported till 4:30 PM.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, A K Khan, said in a press meeting that if the situation continues to be peaceful, the curfew may be relaxed on Thursday morning. Areas will be divided into 2 zones with curfew being lifted in 2 sessions, he elaborated.
The following areas will be relieved of curfew at the respective times:
8am - 10am
Charminar, Hussain Alam, Bahadurpura, Kala Pattar, Bhavani Nagar, Kanchanbagh, Madannapet, Santosh Nagar
11am - 1pm
Chandrayangutta, Chatri Chourasta, Shah Ali Banda, Moghalpura, Madanpura
