Ananthapuram MP J C Diwakar Reddy faced a rather hostile bench in the High Court today, which made interesting comments him while dealing with the petition filed by him challenging the ban imposed on him by several airlines.
Reddy's counsel had urged the court to allow the MP to travel in airlines as the monsoon session of Parliament was going on. Reacting to it, the court made it clear that it would not give any orders without hearing the version of the airline.
More pertinently, the court asked Reddy's counsel whether Diwakar Travels (a bus service owned by Reddy) would allow such incidents. That cannot be good news for Reddy.
It may be recalled that Reddy had approached the court stating that it was unjust for the domestic airlines to impose a flying ban on him, and urged the court to direct the airlines to revoke the ban.
On June 15, Indigo Airlines refused to give a boarding pass to the MP as he had reached the airport late. Reacting to that, Reddy entered an altercation with the airlines' staff, and even tried to throw one of their computers in their airport desk. In response, the domestic airlines imposed a ban on him, preventing him from flying with them.
It is learnt that on Monday Reddy travelled in his friend's private airline to Delhi to cast his vote in the Presidential election.
