Hurdles Being Created For Bharat Ratna To NTR: Wife

Lakshmi Parvathi, the widow of N T Rama Rao, today said that some people were obstructing efforts to get the Bharat Ratna awarded to former AP Chief Minister and legendary politician.

She did not, however, take any names.

She made this statement in a brief interaction with the media at the NTR Ghat, which she was visiting on the occasion of the 22nd death anniversary of the late CM.

Calling the much-beloved late leader an enigma, she said that even the sons of NTR did not know about the developments in his life or have much information about him. She claimed, however, that the legendary leader used to disclose his thoughts and feelings to her, and offered to share all she knew about NTR with actor-cum-politician Balakrishna, provided he contacted her.

Earlier in the day, Balakrishna, the son of NTR, too, visited the ghat and paid floral tributes to his father.
