A circular released by Commissioner A K Khan stated that the orders, issued with the Holi festival in view, will come into force from 6pm on Friday.
The police had on Wednesday issued orders prohibiting the throwing of coloured powder or coloured water on persons, places and vehicles, or smearing people with colour on public roads and in public places, in the city.
The police had also prohibited the movement of 2-wheelers and other vehicles in groups on streets and in public places, disturbing peace and order and/or causing inconveniences, annoyance or danger to the public.
