As many as 85 of the 129 complaints received by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, during its 'Praja Vaani' program, were solved on the spot while the rest would be solved soon, stated the HMWSSB's executive director K Ashok Reddy on Monday.
Ashok Reddy said that the main objective of the 'Praja Vaani' program is to act as a bridge between the consumers and the Water Board by facilitating direct interaction between top officials and the consumers so that their woes can be redressed at the earliest.
The 129 complaints were received at the Khairatabad Board Office, from all parts of GHMC areas, including Malakpet, Humayun nagar, Balapur, Alwal, Malkajgiri, Erragadda, Tarnaka, Defence colony, Banjarahills, Ameerpet, Sharadanagar and Mehdipatnam.
Ashok Kumar revealed that most of the complaints were regarding billing disputes, onetime settlement, new water connections, change of name, metering disputes and drainage problems.
The Praja Vaani program is now being organised in all Operation and Maintenance Divisions for the convenience of the public. A senior officer in the cadre of Director / Chief General Manager (E) attended the Praja Vaani program along with the concerned General Manager (Engg) of O and M Division at Division level.
