HMDA Ex-Director Siva Balakrishna Arrested In DA Case
Secretary of RERA, a Planning Officer in the HMRL and a former director of the HMDA, Siva Balakrishna, was today arrested in the disproportionate assets case.

Current Secretary of RERA and a former director of the HMDA, Siva Balakrishna, was today arrested in the disproportionate assets case filed against him, and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases.
Balakrishna, who is currently also a Planning Officer in the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, resides in an expensive villas (villa no 25) in Aditya Fort View, Secretariat Colony, Puppalagadda, Rajendra Nagar. He is accused of acquiring huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices during his service.
Searches were conducted on January 24 at his house and in 16 other places belonging to his relatives, friends and other associates. During the searches, cash of Rs 99,60,850, gold ornaments weighing 1,988 gm, and silver ornaments weighing around 6 kg were found. In addition, documents relating to movable and immovable properties worth around Rs 5,96,27,495 were also found.
The value of the properties found during the searches is Rs 8,26,48,999 as per the government valuation. The market value of the movable as well as immovable properties will be many times higher. Verification of some additional assets is also underway.
