The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday declined permission for the holding of a beef festival in the Osmania University.
The court directed the State government to strictly implement the directive of the City Civil Court on preventing the beef festival.
The High Court was responding to a plea by ABVP leader Kadiyam Raju who approached it pleading it to direct the government to stop the holding of the beef festival.
Responding to the plea, the High Court directed the police to ensure law and order in OU.
The City Civil Court had already ruled that no festival should be held in the Osmania University till December 20.
The Democratic Cultural Forum (a forum of several student groups) was planning to hold a beef festival on December 10.
The DCF has still said that there was no question of postponing the beef festival.
