HC Seeks Details Of Tukkuguda Municipal Chairman Election

The Telangana High Court asked the SEC for details of the Tukkuguda Municipal Chairman election in which TRS MP K Keshava Rao allegedly voted as an ex-officio member illegally.
Hyderabad | 11th February 2020
The Telangana High Court today asked the State Election Commission to submit details related to the Tukkuguda Municipal Chairman election in which TRS MP K Keshava Rao had allegedly violated norms and cast his vote as an ex-officio member.

Following an appeal by eight BJP leaders, the court admitted the petition to get to know of the facts.

The leaders contended that Rao was an MP from Andhra Pradesh and was not supposed to vote in Telangana.

They also sought action against the municipal commissioner for the election code violations.

The court heard the petitioners and directed the State Election Commission's counsel to give all the relevant details.

The TRS had won the municipal elections in Tukkuguda in which the BJP and the Congress managed to get seats in just single digits.
