The Telangana High Court on Monday ordered the transfer of the BRS MLAs' poaching case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.
The High Court also quashed the State government order constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the poaching case, and also the probe done by the SIT so far.
The order was passed in the writ petitions filed by the three principal accused persons, Ramachandra Bharathi, D P S K V N Simhayaji and Kode Nanda Kumar.
The High Court took this decision after considering the separate petitions filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the accused who had challenged the investigation of the case by the SIT.
Justice Vijayasen Reddy didn't get convinced by the argument made by the Advocate General that the investigation of the case was progressing quickly and that there would be no use of handing over the case to the CBI at this stage.
