HC Grants Anticipatory Bail To Vishweshwar Reddy
Congress leader and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy heaved a sigh of relief with the Telangana High Court granting anticipatory bail to him on Monday.
Congress leader and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy heaved a sigh of relief with the Telangana High Court granting anticipatory bail to him on Monday.
The court directed him to furnish two sureties of Rs 25,000 each and cooperate with the investigating officers.
For the uninitiated, a case was filed against Reddy by the Banjara Hills police for allegedly locking up two policemen who had come to serve notices after he was accused of hoarding large amounts of cash to be distributed to voters during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
When the Congress leader approached the Nampally criminal court seeking anticipatory bail in the case, the court rejected his plea. The MP then went underground and approached the High Court for relief. The High Court perused his petition and allowed his request.
