The Telangana High Court today dismissed the petitions challenging the EC's stopping of the Dalit Bandhu scheme in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
Hyderabad | 28th October 2021
The Telangana High Court today dismissed the petitions challenging the stopping of the Dalit Bandhu scheme of the state government in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency by the Election Commission Of India.

A division bench headed by the Chief Justice of the state Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice A Rajasekher Reddy said that the court would not interfere with the decisions of the Election Commission.

It also made it clear that the EC had the powers to take any decision in order to hold transparent elections.

Senior journalist Mallepally Lakshmaiah and Congress leader Jadson had filed the petitions urging the HC to set aside the orders of the EC issued on October 18th suspending the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
