In a significant development, a division bench of the Telangana High Court today ordered a re-post-mortem of the bodies of three Maoists who were killed allegedly in a police encounter at Cherla mandal in Kothagudem Bhadradri district on Wednesday.

The court also directed the state government to have the re-post-mortem conducted by a team of forensic experts from MGM Hospital, Warangal, and to submit the report to it in a sealed cover by October 5.

The court passed this order in a lunch motion petition filed by the state's Civil Liberties Committee seeking the booking of a case under Section 302 of the IPC against the police officers involved in the encounter.
