Doctors of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, today performed a second post mortem on the bodies of the four accused in
the Disha rape and murder case.
The process took about four hours at the Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad, and only the AIIMS doctors were involved in it.
The post mortem was conducted in secrecy in a dedicated cabin in the hospital.
Dr P Shravan Kumar, Superintendent of the Hospital, said that the entire process was also videographed.
He said that even the hospital staff were not allowed inside, and that the footage of the autopsy was taken away by the AIIMS doctors.
Dr Kumar said that before starting the autopsy the AIIMS doctors interacted with the relatives of the deceased persons and recorded their statements - the Delhi team had wanted to talk with the kin of the deceased, and that was accordingly arranged, he said.
The AIIMS doctors said that the report of the second post mortem would be submitted to the High Court in two days. They left for Delhi later.
As
directed by the High Court, the police handed over the bodies to the respective family members after the post mortem.
The officials shifted the bodies to the respective villages of the accused in two ambulances, for the last rites.
It may be recalled that the High Court had ordered another post mortem of the four persons who were allegedly killed in
an encounter with the police on December 6. The first post mortem was conducted at Mahaboobnagar Hospital on the same day, and the bodies have since then been preserved at Gandhi Hospital in the city, as per the directions of the High Court.
