The hearing on a petition filed against the ongoing indefinite strike by the APNGOs in favour of Samaikyandhra, has been adjourned to Tuesday by the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The petitioner had argued that the strike is illegal and is causing inconvenience to the public.
Nearly 4 lakh employees affiliated to the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association (APNGOs) and other unions have been on an indefinite strike since August 12 midnight (protesting against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh).
Administration has come to a halt in the entire state, especially in the 13 districts of the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, due to the strike. The functioning of state Secretariat has also been hit due to the strike. (INN)
