The Hyderabad traffic police have decided to launch a special drive from November 28 to punish violators of traffic rules in the capital.
They will impose massive fines on violators who commit dangerous wrongs including triple-riding (on two-wheelers) and wrong route driving.
The police have decided to impose a fine of Rs 1,700 for wrong-side driving and Rs 1,200 for triple riding.
They have cautioned vehicle riders to follow the traffic rules to avoid the huge fines, and said that proper compliance with the traffic rules would prevent road accidents. They said that around 100 people had died in the last three years in the city due to the triple-riding and wrong-side driving.
The police also said that they were holding special drives and programs like Operation Rope to enforce traffic rules and ensure the safety of riders.
