The Met Department on Wednesday issued a warning predicting heavy rainfall at a few places and very heavy rain at isolated places in all districts of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions during the next 48 hours.
The Met also said that the heavy rains would occur at isolated places in Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Khammam and Medak districts during the same period.
In view of the warning, the respective District Collectors have been directed to consider evacuation of people, if felt necessary, from the low-lying areas where houses are likely to be submerged or inundated.
They have been asked to accommodate the people in relief camps/shelters, and to provide food, drinking water etc., as per norms.
They have also been asked to draw funds under TR-27 for the same, duly sending accounts to the government, the revenue (dm) dept., and the accountant general. (INN)
