Jagan Bail Verdict On December 24
Sources say that the court has completed hearing the arguments from both sides, Jagan's and the CBI's, and is expected to deliver its verdict on Monday.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the statutory bail petition of YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case to December 24.
Sources say that the court has completed hearing the arguments from both sides, Jagan's and the CBI's, and is expected to deliver its verdict on Monday.
Earlier, continuing the arguments for the second day on Thursday, Jagan's lawyer Padmanabha Reddy contented that his client was being detained illegally for such a long period. He said it was unconstitutional to keep Jagan imprisoned as the 90-day period of his custody had already been completed. However, the CBI, represented by Additional Solicitor General Haren P Raval, opposed Jagan's bail petition on the grounds that investigation was still on, and he might tamper with the evidence or influence witnesses.
Justice B Seshasayana Reddy, who heard the petition, is likely to deliver the verdict on December 24.
Jagan is lodged in Chanchalguda Jail since his arrest by the CBI on May 27. (INN)
