HCU Student Killed As Car Rams Into Road Divider
An Ananya Goel was killed when the car she was travelling by rammed into a road divider at Burjugadda under the Shamshabad rural police limits on Tuesday.
A first year MA Political Science student of the University of Hyderabad (also known as HCU) was killed on the spot and two others injured when the car they were travelling by rammed into a road divider at Burjugadda under the Shamshabad rural police limits in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Ananya Goel (20) of Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, was returning from the birthday celebrations of a Jetin Pawar (24), along with Pawar and another friend Nikita Bansal. Pawar, who was at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle while driving towards the Bangalore highway, causing the car to turn turtle.
While Pawar and Bansal who were seated in the front at the time of the accident survived due to the seatbelts they were wearing, Goel who was seated at the back died on the spot. She was declared brought dead to the hospital.
Police suspected that the driver was speeding under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. A case of causing death due to negligence under IPC sections 304 A and 338 was registered against him.
