HC Asks BIE For Report On Colleges To Be Closed
The Telangana High Court sought a report from the Intermediate Board on the number of colleges to be closed for not fulfilling affiliation requirements.
The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education to submit a report informing it about the number of colleges to be closed for failure to fulfill the requirements for affiliation.
The High Court also directed the BIE to inform it about the number of colleges inspected by the Fire Services Department, and the conditions of those colleges.
The court passed the order while dealing with a PIL filed against unauthorized Intermediate colleges being run by the Sri Chaitanya and Narayana educational institutions.
In its report, the Intermediate Board submitted to the HC that a total of 29,808 students were studying in the unauthorised Intermediate colleges, and that the students would suffer if the colleges were shut down as they would have exams from March 4.
The matter has been posted to April 7 for further hearing.
