Hyderabad | 19th January 2022
The Telangana High Court today canceled?the GOs issued on May 7, 2017, increasing the fees in the post-graduate medical and dental colleges in the private?sector in the state.

Ruling on a petition, the court asked the colleges to follow the fee structure as per TAFRC 20160-19, and not implement the fresh GOs to hike the fees.

The court opined that the government could not levy such burdens on students pursuing a medical education.

The court also directed the colleges to return in 30 days any extra fees collected from the students, and that the certificates to the PG medical students be offered without any problems.

The government had issued GOs on May 7, 2017, hiking the fees from 2017-2020, and subsequently faced the wrath of the medical students.
