The city police on Monday arrested Hindu religious leader Swami Kamalananda Bharati in connection with two cases registered against him for allegedly making hate speeches against Muslims.
Swami Kamalanand was arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) team in Srisailam late on Sunday night, and was brought to the city on Monday.
He was produced before a magistrate at his residence in Judges' Quarters at Secunderabad, who remanded him to 14-day judicial custody. Later, he was shifted to Cherlapally Central Prison.
Bharati, the president of Hindu Devalaya Parirakshana Samithi, allegedly made certain offensive remarks against Muslims during a rally held at Indira Park on January 8 to condemn the alleged hate speeches of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi. Following complaints lodged by various Muslim organisations, cases were registered against him at Mir Chowk and Dabeerpura Police Stations. (INN)
he is a swami he should not give hate speech. because in any religion you should not say that which causes hurt to other religions. Mr swami should get punishment on his speech.
